Rising Christ

By artist, Jerzy Kenar

The Rising Christ sculpture is suspended at the rear of the nave.  This striking piece of sacred art is carved from linden wood and weighs nearly 800 pounds - here is Jesus seeming to emerge from a shroud with - in the words of Kenar, "one hand reaching down to us and the other, raising upward to the Father."

Together with the upward spiral etched into the glass backdrop just behind the figure, the image is even more powerful, inviting us to come through Him to the Father.  When you leave the church, you do so with a sense of optimism.
