Sixth Station: St. Veronica wipes the face of Jesus

Home / Sixth Station: St. Veronica wipes the face of Jesus

Station Description: Veronica uses her veil to wipe the face of Jesus, which captures a print His face.

An angel surrounds the scene, and a child touches the wing of the angel.

At the bottom left of the Station, a snake, representing evil, moves toward Jesus intending to trip Him in the next scene.

Over Veronica’s shoulder, Mary comforts John.

Behind them, two Pharisees wash a cup and dish, as they walk beside a blind Pharisee. (Matthew 23:25-26).

The other child from the Fourth Station offers Jesus a cup of water to drink.

Above the child, a man leads a lamb to be slaughtered, and a sheep is sheared (Isaiah 53:7).

Above them, a woman weeps over the graves of her seven husbands (Matthew 22:25-26).
