Home / Eleventh Station: Jesus is nailed to the Cross
Station Description: At the foot of Mount Golgotha, Jesus is nailed to the cross. All His limbs are simultaneously being held and nailed as Jesus, almost in resignation, does not struggle.
Behind Jesus, two thieves are crucified. There is a hole in the ground in between the crosses, where Jesus’ cross will be raised up.
To the left, a sower sows seeds on rocky ground and good soil (Matthew 13:1-8, 18-23).
Standing above the city on the left is Satan, who points and offers the city of Jerusalem to Jesus (Luke 4:9-13).
At the top right portion of the Station, Mary and John continue to remain near Jesus’ side.
The ground is littered with skulls, hands, and eyes.
